Gore Place Mini-Session | Waltham Children’s Photographer

Like most family photographers, my November was filled with tons and tons of holiday sessions. While these types of sessions certainly have the potential to go awry (by which I mean tacky), my clients and I managed to avoid Santa hats, matching red sweaters, and elaborate Christmasy backdrops! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen some really cute holiday mini-session set-ups, but the problem with them is that pictures with red and green and reindeer and twinkly Christmas lights are only good for one thing…Christmas cards. And although I LOVE receiving adorable Christmas cards just as much as the next guy, the reality is, they’re just going to end up in my recycling bin come mid-January! That’s why I say it’s important to plan holiday mini-sessions with more of a winter theme-think cozy sweaters, pine trees, and maybe a cute vintage sled 😉 (which you’ll see in a later blog post). This way, you can use your pictures for both holiday cards andddd prints above the mantle. Win win!

Here’s one of my winter minis from last month. You’ll see in about two seconds why I just HAD to blog this one!

Oh hey! I’m Melissa, a Boston family & newborn photographer, but I like to refer to myself as a toddler-whispering, child-taming, photographic ninja.
