Portrait Agreement

A $150 retainer ($300 for Baby Steps Plan) is due at time of booking to secure your spot. Should you need to cancel your session, a refund will be given if the session slot is filled by another client. Requests to reschedule will be honored at the discretion of the photographer and the retainer will be applied to your new session date. Sessions may be rescheduled one time without penalty. Further rescheduled sessions will be subject to a $50 rescheduling fee.
The remaining balance is due on the day of the session or event.
Final images are generally delivered 7-14 days after the date of your session. Family and newborn sessions can expect a minimum of 50 images, and 2-hour events can expect a minimum of 90 images. If for some reason the photographer is unable to complete them in that time frame, the client will be notified. Following digital delivery, the original unedited files will be archived by the photographer for 4 weeks. Completed galleries will be hosted by the photographer for a minimum of one year.
The photographer reserves the right to re-schedule due to inclement weather.
The photographer reserves the right to reschedule due to a late client arrival if it will impact the start of another session or if available light will be compromised.
Please do not use your own camera, camcorder, or recording device at the session. This includes use of your iPhone/smart phone camera. Use of personal cameras during the session can be distracting to both children and the photographer and may compromise the quality of work.
The photographer reserves the right to select the images deemed high in quality for editing. Editing includes: color correction and enhancement, exposure adjustments, minor blemish removals, and a subtle film-like finish. If an image is offered in black and white only, it did not work well in color due to lighting conditions and will remain in black and white. In-depth re-touching is not part of my regular editing service. This includes: hair fixes, wrinkle removal on clothing, air brushing, body alterations, etc. Editing rights belong solely to the photographer. Additional editing or use of Instagram filters is prohibited.
Sharing session photos is essential to the photographer for attracting future clients. Photos may be used for the purposes of display, portfolio, advertising, website/blog or publication. Melissa Rabbitt Photography will not sell the images to a third party.
Clients are given printing rights with their digital images. While they are able to print through a vendor of their choosing, the photographer is not responsible for print quality beyond her own professional print lab.
The photographer retains the copyright of all images from the photo session. Clients are prohibited from using their images for profit, commercial endeavors, in competitions, or for professional display. They may, however, share, post, and print their images at their discretion.
