Long before I got into photography, I rode horses. I owned one (a very cranky one, I’ll have you know), and I rode at Mount Holyoke College on the eq. team. Like all of my horsey friends from college, I miss it allllll the time, and I often have dreams about our horse show days. Siiiigh. It’s been ten years since we graduated, and sadly, I can probably count the number of times I’ve ridden on two hands. It’s just not an affordable hobby living in the suburbs of Boston, and now I’m so badly out of riding shape that I’d probably fall off and fracture every bone in my body.
This is not the case for allll of my Moho horsey friends, though. My friend Kyla opened up her own biz last year,Rosemont Farm, and she’s currently basking in the Florida sun finishing up the winter show season. Before she headed south for the winter, I took photos of one of her students with her two incredibly adorable ponies. After that session, I decided that one of my business goals for 2016 was to photograph more kids with their horses and ponies. So far, I’m not exactly succeeding, but hey, it’s only late March. ha. If you’re interested a pony portrait session, I’d love to chat. I am offering these sessions at a reduced rate of $350 (weekend) and $300 (weekday) as I hope to get more of them into my portfolio this year! If you’re a trainer or farm owner and you have a handful of kids looking to have portraits done, there is also a mini-session option. And during the summer months, I can work around crazy horse show schedules :).
For now though, I hope you enjoy these pictures of Tess, Lady, and Roxy :).
