You may not know that if you book a newborn session with me, you’ll have the option of a maternity mini session add-on instead of a full maternity session. A mini may or may not be the right call for you though. Here are three reasons a mini may be the perfect option.
You Only Want a Few Photos
If you know with certainty that you only only want a photo or two for social media or maybe to print, then a mini is a good option for you. If you’d like an outfit change, several backgrounds, or a maternity session in your home, then you’ll want the full session. And if you think you may want to print a whole album, you probably will want to consider a full maternity session as well since they include 50+ unique images. My minis generate about 15 unique images, and clients can choose their favorite 5 for download with the option to upgrade to the full gallery.
It’s Baby #1
There’s no doubt that mini sessions are really, really challenging with kids, which is why I usually recommend that you opt for the full session if you already have kiddos. Sometimes I can make it work if you only have one child, but if you’re expecting baby #3 or 4, go for an hour long session instead.
You’re Comfortable in Front of the Camera
The thing with mini sessions is that we don’t have a ton time to get to know one another. This usually isn’t a problem as I try to make things light and fun from the second we meet. However, if you consider yourself really introverted or awkward in front of the camera, you might benefit from more time to get comfortable with me and my camera.
If you’re considering a maternity session in the Boston area, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m happy to chat with you about whether or not a mini-session is the right choice for you.
