Baby Cora | Boston Newborn Photographer

It’s funny how in the matter of a few months, my business has changed so much. A year ago, I generally had no interest in newborn sessions. When the words “newborn session” came to mind, all I could think of were icky baskets, headbands the size of Texas (I actually love headbands, but not the ridiculously gigantic ones that swallow babies right up), and porcelain doll editing that makes babies look like toys rather than living, breathing humans.

Over time, however, I realized that this isn’t what newborn sessions have to be like, and I could in fact photograph newborns without humiliating all of them! In fact, I came to realize that newborn sessions can actually be quite genuine and sweet. What’s cuter than the sheer excitement (and exhaustion) of brand new parents?!?

That being said, I was pretty damn excited when Danika asked if I’d take some casual photos of their new little family. Mostly, I wanted to apologize to baby Cora for shrieking that time in the teachers’ room when I saw her flip from one side to the other inside her mother (this whole baby/pregnancy thing is foreign territory to me, so I was shocked, okay?!). hehehee. No, but in all seriousness, I couldn’t wait to meet the little girl who was eagerly awaited by so many people.

Welcome to the world, Cora! You were smart to make your debut after the worst of winter had passed :).

WELCOME

Oh hey! I’m Melissa, a Boston family & newborn photographer, but I like to refer to myself as a toddler-whispering, child-taming, photographic ninja.
