I have a confession-a deep, dark confession.
You ready for it?
I have a love/hate with Instagram, and mostly it’s a hate.
Honestly, I use it mainly because I do get the occasional client from there, but I’ve thought of deleting my account a bajillion times. On the average day, Instagram makes me feel like a meh photographer. Between barely having 1,000 followers and seeing all of the ridiculously talented photographers on there, it hurts my photog self-esteem on the regular, haaaaa.
Buttttt there’s one good thing that has come from my Instagram account, and that’s connecting with other photographers in the greater Boston area. Laura, another local photographer and the mama of three seen here in this blog post, once reached out to me to say hi when she started following my account and saw that we lived in the same area. At some point after that she also sent me a referral, I thanked her, and then we started talking pretty regularly. She has since given up her photography business to focus on mommin’, but it we still talk photography all the time and we even did a family photo trade recently.
Her newborn session had all the ingredients for an adorable gallery of images- from two doting older brothers, to a perfectly decorated nursery and their hilariously hyper cockapoo. Enjoy!
