Luke and Ashlyn’s maternity session perfectly depicts why outdoor winter sessions are totally underrated, and why you should probably be considering one:). For starters, there’s something completely magical about winter light. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that the trees are bare so more of that gorgeous, golden light can actually seep through, or if there’s actually a difference between winter light and summer light, but I’m just in love with it. The other thing I love about winter sessions is that all of my favorite shooting locations in the greater Boston area are pretty much ghost towns right now, which means I’m not fighting with other photographers for the good spots. And because my workload is much lighter in the winter, I can generally get my clients’ images edited and delivered sooner. Win win!
