Brookline Newborn Session| Boston Newborn Photographer

I knew when I stepped foot in this family’s house that this was going to be a great lifestyle newborn session. For starters, I had photographed them before and knew that their beautiful Brookline home was full of great light. More importantly, I knew that they’re really good at doing their cute little thing in front of the camera. But what made me particularly confident that this session would be nothing but authentically awesome was this lovely little statement…”mommy wipes my butt again.” UHHH, what?! Yes, you read that correctly.

Upon arrival, the first thing I asked three-year-old Elise was how she felt about her new role as big sis (or as her moms refer to her, “Chief Helper in Charge”). She promptly responded with that memorable line mentioned above…”mommy wipes my butt again.” After a little parental clarification, I finally realized what she meant was that her mother wasn’t able to handle potty duties for 9 months due to nausea;). Ohhhhh, the things toddlers say!

Once I pulled myself together and got over that comedic introduction, I started photographing everything that unfolded- the dog jumping on the bed for family snuggles, grandmother/baby time, and little Elise requesting skin-to-skin snuggle time with her brother (this was honestly the highlight of the entire two hours, and maybe the best thing that’s ever happened at a newborn session).

Anywayyyy, enough blabbing from me! I now present you with this lovely little in-home newborn session :).

WELCOME

Oh hey! I’m Melissa, a Boston family & newborn photographer, but I like to refer to myself as a toddler-whispering, child-taming, photographic ninja.
